2cm Antolini Cipollino Ondulato marble slab, 69 by 121 inches, honed finish with horizontal undulating bands of charcoal, smoke gray, and dusty rose, lifted by crane at Royal Stone in Los Angeles

Cipollino Ondulato earns its name. Where most marbles draw the eye to a single vein, this one moves in long, parallel bands — charcoal, graphite, smoke gray, and a quiet dusty-rose drift — that ripple across the slab like wind on water. The pattern is unusually horizontal and directional, which makes layout a real decision: bookmatched, the rose passages mirror into soft pools; run sequentially, the bands keep marching.

Finished honed, the surface is matte and dry to the eye — no glare to fight the movement, no wet-look saturation pulling the rose toward pink.

Finished honed, the surface is matte and dry to the eye — no glare to fight the movement, no wet-look saturation pulling the rose toward pink. The grays stay cool and the white veining reads as paper-white filament rather than glassy highlight. It's the quieter of the two finish options and the one that lets the pattern do the talking.

Antolini, 2cm, 69" × 121" — fresh on the floor at Royal Stone. Calcareous and acid-reactive; best specified for vertical features, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls rather than working kitchens. Worth walking the yard to plan the band direction before cutting.
