Quarried in Tuscany and selected through Antolini in Verona. The block, lot and slab sequence matter as much as the family name.

Breccia describes the structure before it describes the color: older marble broken into fragments, then cemented by finer mineral under pressure. Capraia is the Tuscan register — angular ivory, rust, oxblood, violet and green clasts held in a field with enough movement to carry a room.

Antolini’s Ultimate YG557 is the most painterly current cut. Breccia Pernice, Olympia and Brèche de Vendôme extend the comparison across burgundy, taupe, cream and green registers.

The family is best specified where the full composition can be read: a bookmatched bath wall, a fireplace surround, a statement island, a bar front or a single full-height feature wall. Honed keeps the fragments architectural; polished makes them perform. We’ll pull the lot into daylight before you commit.

What is Breccia Capraia marble?
Breccia Capraia is a Tuscan fragment marble: older pieces of stone were broken and then cemented together by finer mineral under pressure. The current Antolini selections range from ivory, burgundy and violet to rust and deep green, with each block producing a different composition.
Where does Breccia Capraia work best?
Breccia Capraia is strongest where the full composition can be read: a feature wall, bookmatched bath, fireplace surround, statement island or bar front. Pair it with restrained millwork and let the fragments carry the room.
Is Breccia Capraia good for a kitchen countertop?
It can be specified for a statement island, but it is a true marble and can etch or scratch with use. Honed is the quieter finish for a working space; the selected slab, edge detail and maintenance routine should be reviewed before fabrication.
Can Breccia Capraia be bookmatched?
Selected Breccia Capraia blocks can be bookmatched, but the sequence must be confirmed from the actual lot. Current YG557 availability is lot-specific, so bring the layout or elevations and we will walk the slabs in order.
