Cristallo is the most translucent quartzite Antolini quarries, and the Lumix selection is named for light — a translucent white field shot through with warm gold filaments that come alive when lit. Where the quieter Cristallo readings stay near-clear, Lumix carries just enough gold to give the slab warmth and direction without crowding the translucency.
This is a backlight slab in its purest form. Set behind a panel and lit, the white ground turns luminous and the gold filaments glow like threads suspended in glass — the effect that has made Cristallo the signature backlit quartzite for islands, bars, and feature walls. Even unlit and polished, the surface reads bright and crystalline under interior light.
“Even unlit and polished, the surface reads bright and crystalline under interior light.”
As a true quartzite, Cristallo is hard and etch-resistant, so a backlit island in Lumix is as practical as it is dramatic — a rare combination at this level of translucency.
This is Lot AO921, chapas 15–21, polished at 2cm — a matched run for larger continuous work. On the floor at our Los Angeles yard; book a viewing to see it lit from behind.
