Monet Viola Classic is the painterly end of the Monet family — a chalk-white Calacatta-side field where the veining runs sage green and oxidized gold rather than the warm cinnamon of Monet Oro or the cool violet of true Calacatta Viola. Lot YG373 is a strong Classic-grade selection: the field reads clean and bright, the green-grey veining drifts across the slab in soft watercolor passages, and a single dramatic black ink-splash inclusion sits center-low like a signature.
Polished. The polish is essential on this slab — it brings the green out of the grey, deepens the gold to a true warm metallic, and lets the black inclusion read as the focal point it deserves to be. Honed would flatten the green to a soft sage and mute the contrast that makes this slab worth specifying. Polished Monet Viola is meant to perform.
“The polish is essential on this slab — it brings the green out of the grey, deepens the gold to a true warm metallic, and lets the black inclusion read as the focal point it deserves to be.”
Cut at 2cm and measuring 76" × 119", the slab is sized for a single-piece island top, a primary bath vanity face, a full-height fireplace surround, or a sculptural powder room. The black inclusion is the design conversation — placement on the cut is everything, and the slab needs to be walked and marked in person before it goes to the saw.
On the floor at Royal Stone in Los Angeles. Walk it in daylight before it is reserved.
