Calacatta Viola is the most collected of the coloured Calacattas, and the Antico Extra selection is its warmest, most antique-feeling reading. The ground is a soft cream rather than stark white, and through it runs a breccia of violet, plum, and amber — the colour Viola is sought for, here laid over a warmer base that softens the whole composition. 'Extra' denotes the top grade for clarity of colour and balance of movement.
Polished, the violet network deepens and the amber passages warm the field, giving a richness that reads beautifully on a fireplace, a powder vanity, or a single feature wall. Bookmatched, the breccia mirrors into a symmetrical event that anchors a room.
“Polished, the violet network deepens and the amber passages warm the field, giving a richness that reads beautifully on a fireplace, a powder vanity, or a single feature wall.”
Calacatta Viola is a marble, so it will etch and patina with use; most designers specify it where its character can age gracefully rather than on a hard-working kitchen run, or seal and maintain it accordingly.
This is Lot EI088, slab 27B, polished. On the floor at our South Sepulveda yard — ask to see it bookmatched if a symmetrical feature is the plan.
