Copacabana — sold in the trade as Panda Quartzite — is one of the most graphic stones we carry. The ground is a snow white quartz; broad black bands run horizontally across the slab in long, restless brushstrokes, with occasional pale green flickers in the lighter zones. Read at a distance, it is closer to a Franz Kline painting than a piece of natural stone.

This slab is polished, in a working size of 67″ × 120″. The polish sharpens the black-and-white contrast and lifts the green flicker into view. Best deployed bookmatched — feature walls, vein-running islands, fireplace surrounds — where the directional pattern can carry the composition.
