Fior di Pesco Carnico is one of Italy's most distinctive grey marbles — a cool grey-blue field crossed by white and rose veining that gives the stone its name, 'peach blossom.' The blue undertone sets it apart from the warmer greys; it reads cool and architectural, with just enough rose to keep it from going severe.
Finished matt rather than polished, the surface is soft and contemporary, muting reflection so the blue-grey field and the rose vein read as quiet drawing. It suits a modern bath, a feature wall, or a powder room where a cool, moody stone is the brief.
“Finished matt rather than polished, the surface is soft and contemporary, muting reflection so the blue-grey field and the rose vein read as quiet drawing.”
As a marble it will etch and patina with use; the matt finish carries wear more discreetly than a polish, but sealing and considered placement remain part of living with it.
This is Lot EH821, slab 48B, matt-finished. On the floor at our South Sepulveda yard — best seen in person, where the blue undertone reads truest.
