Taj Mahal is the quartzite that built the warm-neutral category, and Antolini's Select grade is what separates the editorial slabs from the commercial ones. This new arrival, lot AO758, is a textbook read: a warm ivory ground brushed with soft taupe and pale caramel movement, the drift loose and watercolor rather than tight and veined. There is no grey, no green, no cool cast — the slab carries a uniform warmth across its full length.
Polished is the correct finish for this slab. The polish deepens the ivory to a buttery cream and lets the taupe movement read as gentle shadow, which is what gives Select-grade Taj Mahal its signature softness. Honed flattens it; leather mutes it. Polished is the dress finish, and it earns its keep on kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds, primary bath vanities, and the occasional full-height shower wall where the slab is the wall.

Cut at 2cm and measuring 77" × 132", the slab is long enough for a single-piece run on most island geometries. The container included consecutive blocks, so bookmatched pairs and sequenced runs can be specified on request.
On the floor in Los Angeles this week. Walk it before it is reserved.
