Ivory travertine is the warm register of classical Italian stone — cream, oat, and the faint blush that Tivoli quarries have carried since Roman building. This slab is vein cut, so the bedding plane reads as a long horizontal current running the length of the slab; filled and honed, so the natural pores are closed and the surface is brought to a soft, even matte.
Filled-and-honed is the practical, architectural face of travertine. With the porosity filled the stone takes a clean, continuous plane that fabricates predictably and wipes down easily, while the honed finish keeps it quiet — no glare, just warmth. It is the version of travertine made for surfaces you actually use: kitchen counters and islands, full-height feature walls, fireplace surrounds, and floors that want a soft, plastered calm rather than a polished shine.

Working size is 2cm, 57″ × 106″. As a natural travertine it is softer than marble or quartzite and benefits from sealing; we can advise on finish chemistry and edge detail before fabrication. Pairs naturally with lime plaster, warm oak, unlacquered brass, and bone-white cabinetry.
On the floor now at 2303 South Sepulveda — best seen in person to read the grain and the honed hand.
