Antolini Thunderflash green quartzite slab, 2cm honed, 76 by 129 inches, with matte seafoam-green field and softened garnet and copper veining, hanging from a crane at the Royal Stone & Tile Los Angeles yard

The honed Thunderflash from the same Antolini lot — matte, chalkier, quieter. Honing pulls the gloss off the seafoam field and gives the green a powdery, almost plaster-like quality, while the red and copper veining stays present but settles back instead of glowing. For interiors leaning soft-modern, Belgian, or chalk-Mediterranean, honed is the more honest read.

2cm gauge, honed, 76″ × 129″. Brazilian quartzite, fully natural. Honed surfaces on quartzite want a regular reseal cadence in kitchens — worth flagging with the client — but reward you with a hand-finished feel that polished cannot do.

Pairs with unlacquered brass, lime-washed oak, tadelakt or microcement walls, and bone-white linens. Sits next to its two polished sister slabs in the same lot for clients deciding finish before they commit.

On the floor at 2303 South Sepulveda alongside the polished pair. Walk all three side by side in daylight to read the finish difference honestly.
