Italy’s fragmented marbles — geology composed in pieces. Stones where the field is broken into angular shards held together by mineral and time.

Breccia Capraia Ultimate marble slab with fragmented mineral pattern at Royal Stone Los Angeles

Breccia Capraia Ultimate — Honed, 73″ × 130″

On Breccia

No. 01.3

Quarried in Tuscany and the Verona basin. Pernice from Verona, Capraia from the Apuans, Olympia from Tuscany’s western belt.

Breccia describes the structure rather than the color: a marble made of broken fragments cemented by a finer matrix. The result is a stone with the visual energy of mosaic — angular, layered, almost architectural — which is why designers reach for it when a single material needs to carry a room.

Royal Stone stocks Breccia Capraia Ultimate from Antolini, Breccia Pernice from Verona, Ceppo Breccia Olympia from Tuscany, and rotates rarer breccias as they arrive. Standard gauge is 2cm honed; polished and 3cm available by request.

Breccias work best at scale — full-height feature walls, large kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds and bar fronts where the fragmented composition can be read whole. We’ll pull a slab into daylight for you to walk before you commit.

Slabs are one-of-one. We’d rather pull the piece for you to see than describe it from a photograph. Designers and private clients are welcome by appointment.
