A second polished Thunderflash slab from the same Antolini lot, with veining that reads differently than its sister: the diagonal strikes here are heavier and more continuous, with a broader oxidised wash through the lower third where the red, copper, and bronze pool against the pale jade field. The two polished slabs read as a natural pair for a bookmatched moment — vanity, fireplace, island end-cap — where the eye wants the veining to mirror across a seam.
2cm gauge, polished, 76″ × 129″. Brazilian quartzite, fully natural, hard-wearing through daily kitchen use. Polished finish lights the red veining and deepens the green so the slab carries chroma even in low-light interiors.
“Brazilian quartzite, fully natural, hard-wearing through daily kitchen use.”
Pairs with unlacquered brass, warm walnut and rift oak, plaster in clay or bone, and Calacatta Viola or Rosso Levanto in a secondary role for projects that want a red-and-green palette without competing for the lead. Sister slabs in the same lot include a honed Thunderflash for clients who want the softer matte read.
Both polished slabs are on the floor at 2303 South Sepulveda. Walk them as a pair in daylight before deciding which face leads.
