Quarried in Italy by Bassi. Cut for the deepest emerald register the quarry will hold, with the white vein drawn straight across the body.
Green Emerald Varias is the green marble in its architectural register — a near-emerald field so dark it reads almost as black in low light, broken by wide white veins drawn diagonally across the slab. The vein does the work of figure; the green does the work of weight. The slab is calibrated to lead the room rather than disappear into it.
At 72″ × 136″, the slab reads at scale — sized for a kitchen island, a primary bath composed entirely of stone, a fireplace wall, or a feature entry. Honed keeps the green matte and serious; polished pushes it toward spectacle. The architectural call is honed, the right surface when the brief is seriousness, not theatre.
The right marble when the brief calls for weight in colour and the slab is meant to anchor the architecture. Pair with travertine, lime plaster, brass, and one quieter lighter stone elsewhere as counterpoint.
