Viola Orobico is quarried in the Orobie Alps north of Bergamo — one of the most cinematic of the rare Italian marbles. The slab reads as a single weather event: long currents of rust-red, deep plum, and warm cream, broken by darker silver-grey passages that hold like clouds across the field. Each block opens with a different drawing.
“The polish is what carries it — the depth of the violet pigments and the sharpness of the white quartz veining read at their fullest under a high finish.”
Polished, 72″ × 126″. The polish is what carries it — the depth of the violet pigments and the sharpness of the white quartz veining read at their fullest under a high finish. Best deployed where the slab can be seen entire: a kitchen island, a powder room vanity, a fireplace surround, a bath wall.
