Antolini Red Onice Fantastico onyx slab polished at 56 by 110 inches at Royal Stone Los Angeles, saturated red and oxblood horizontal banding with amber and cream

Onice Fantastico is the slab people are picturing when they say onyx. Antolini's lot is a textbook example: dense horizontal stratification of saturated red and oxblood bands threaded with warm amber and cream, with a lower passage where the layers fracture and pool into a tortoiseshell read. The slab carries the AVP (Antolini Vacuum Process) tag — meaning the slab has been resin-stabilized in vacuum, which is essential on a material with this much natural fissure structure.

There is no other finish for Onice Fantastico — the polish is what activates the saturation and translucency.
From the slab arrival, 2024

Polished. There is no other finish for Onice Fantastico — the polish is what activates the saturation and translucency. Cut at 2cm and measuring 56" × 110", the slab is sized for a single sculptural surface: a backlit bar front, a fireplace surround, a powder bath wall, or a primary suite vanity face. Backlit onyx is the headline use, and this slab will read like stained glass against an LED panel.

Onice Fantastico is soft enough to require careful handling and the right detail at edges. It belongs on vertical surfaces and statement horizontals — not on a daily-use kitchen run. On the floor in Los Angeles. Walk it lit from behind before it is reserved.
