Rojo Alicante is the Spanish red marble that reads at architectural weight — a warm brick-red and terracotta field crossed by quiet white calcite veining drawn across the body in thin broken lines. The colour sits warmer than French red and cooler than Persian red: a working red, register to here in California as the most buildable Spanish red in the program. Cut at 2cm by Antolini and finished honed, the surface keeps the warm brick register matte and the calcite reading legible against the field.

At 61" × 113" the slab runs long enough for a fireplace surround, a primary bath floor or wall, a working island where the red is to register as warmth, or a feature wall where the calcite vein is meant to lead the architecture. The honed surface forgives everyday wear in residential applications, brings the red toward terracotta in indirect light, and reads with travertine, lime plaster, brass, and one cooler Calacatta elsewhere as counterpoint.

Rojo Alicante is a marble, not a quartzite, so specify with appropriate etchant awareness for kitchens and bar tops. Bath walls, fireplace surrounds, entry floors, and feature compositions are the right calls. On the A-frame at South Sepulveda this week — pull the slab and walk it before it is gone.
