Dedalus

The painterly green.

A Dedalus selection, chosen for the movement of its field — the green, charcoal, and ivory registers set in continuous swirl across the slab.

Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty is the green marble in its painterly register — a sage-and-mint field in constant motion, crossed by charcoal-black and ivory currents that run like brushstrokes across the slab. No two square feet repeat; the figure does the work of composition, and the room is built around it.

At 71″ × 110″, the slab is sized for a kitchen island, a bar top, a vanity wall, or a feature fireplace where the stone is meant to be read like a canvas. The polished finish saturates the green and pulls the charcoal currents into relief — the right surface for a marble whose brief is spectacle.

The right marble when the brief calls for art in stone. Pair with walnut, unlacquered brass, lime plaster, and one quieter stone elsewhere as counterpoint. Runs beautifully as an island under a single pendant, a full-height backsplash, or a powder-room composition where the slab is the only ornament the room needs.

One Finish · Polished

Polished,
to pull the green into relief.

Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty ships polished. The mirror surface saturates the sage-and-mint register and pulls the charcoal currents forward, turning the slab into the artwork of the room. On a marble whose figure is the brief, polish is the right call — the veining reads at full depth and the color holds its saturation across the whole field.

The right surface for kitchen islands, bar tops, vanity walls, and any application where the slab is meant to lead the room as a composed image.

Saturated green, in motion

Polishing pushes the Green Beauty register to full saturation. The sage field deepens, the charcoal currents read in relief, and the ivory figure catches light across the slab. The right surface for a marble that is meant to register as artwork rather than background.

Common Questions

Questions,answered.

What is Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty marble?
Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty is a polished green marble in the painterly register — a sage-and-mint field crossed by charcoal-black and ivory currents that swirl continuously across the slab, reading like brushwork. Part of the Dedalus series, currently in the Royal Stone yard in Los Angeles.
Is Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty available honed?
By special order. The slab ships polished, calibrated to saturate the green and pull the charcoal figure into relief. Honed softens the movement and pushes the marble toward a quieter register; polished is the right call when the slab is the artwork of the room. Bring drawings and we will lay the options out on the floor.
Where does Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty work best?
In the room where the stone is meant to read as art. A kitchen island under a single pendant, a bar top, a vanity wall, a full-height backsplash, or a fireplace surround composed around the slab. Pair with walnut, brass, lime plaster, and one quieter stone elsewhere as counterpoint.
How is Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty different from Green Emerald Varias?
Green Emerald Varias is a near-emerald field crossed by bold white diagonal veining — weight and architecture. Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty is a lighter sage-and-mint field in continuous swirl with charcoal and ivory currents — movement and brushwork. One anchors the room; the other animates it.
Can Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty be bookmatched?
Bookmatched compositions are available on selected blocks. The slab ships as a single piece; matched pairs and larger compositions are quote-on-request.
How do I see Verde Van Gogh Green Beauty in person?
Royal Stone is at 2303 South Sepulveda Boulevard, West Los Angeles. Designers and private clients are welcome by appointment Monday through Friday. Call (310) 477-3223 and we will pull the slab for you.

The Green Beauty register reads deeper and more painterly in person than in any photograph — the charcoal currents move across the field and the polished surface holds the color at full saturation. We’d rather pull the slab and walk you through than describe the green.
