Corchia · Apuan Alps

The painterly register.

Quarried in the Apuan Alps above Carrara, from the Corchia basin that gives the stone its name. Selected slab-by-slab for the bright white field and the boldest vein structure.

Arabescato is the painterly branch of the Carrara family — a bright white ground crossed by loose, brush-like gray veining with faint gold passages, softer in stroke than the hard lines of a Borghini and more graphic than a Statuario. The Corchia quarries produce the cleanest white of the Arabescato cuts, and Fantastico is the boldest grade of that — denser vein, longer movement across the field.

At 65″ × 118″ the slab is a long landscape. 34 slabs from lot PLST1232 are on the floor at South Sepulveda right now, which means designers and homeowners can walk an actual selection across the floor — match vein, match register, lay out which slabs become the island and which become the bath surround. Honed keeps the gray veining quiet and lets the white read soft rather than reflective.

The right marble when the project wants a white field with real movement — statement without the formality of a Calacatta. Pair with white oak, plaster, aged brass, or a dark soapstone elsewhere as the counterpoint. Runs beautifully as waterfall islands, full-height bath walls, vanity tops, and fireplace surrounds where the vein can carry across the room.

One Finish · Honed

Honed,
to keep the veining quiet.

Arabescato Corchia Fantastico ships honed. The matte surface keeps the painterly gray veining soft and lets the white field read calm rather than reflective — polished would sharpen the contrast and push the stone toward graphic. Honed also forgives the small etching that working marble in a kitchen or bath picks up over the years.

The right surface for waterfall islands, vanity tops, full-height bath walls, and fireplace surrounds.

2cm · 65″ × 118″ · Honed · Lot PLST1232

Bright white, matte, painterly

Honing pulls the polish off and lets the gray veining read like brushwork rather than contrast. Under natural light the slab sits soft and architectural; the faint gold passages warm the field at full scale.

Common Questions

Questions,answered.

What is Arabescato Corchia Fantastico marble?
Arabescato Corchia is the painterly branch of the Carrara family, quarried in the Corchia basin of the Apuan Alps — a bright white field crossed by loose, brush-like gray veining with faint gold passages. Fantastico is the boldest grade of that cut, selected for denser vein and longer movement across the field.
How much Arabescato Corchia Fantastico is in the yard?
34 slabs currently on the floor at Royal Stone, all 65″ × 118″ at 2cm honed from lot PLST1232. Enough to walk a full selection — match register, lay out which slab goes to the island, the bath, the fireplace, and order a matched set of slabs for a single full slab.
Is Arabescato Corchia Fantastico available in polished?
By special order. Honed is what the slab ships at, calibrated to keep the veining soft and the white field calm. Polished Arabescato is worth considering for accent walls; honed is the right call for working kitchens and baths.
Is this marble good for kitchen countertops?
Honed Arabescato works beautifully in kitchens where a white field with movement is what the room wants. The matte surface forgives everyday etching, and most designers accept the lived-in patina as part of the material.
Can Arabescato Corchia Fantastico be bookmatched?
