Lot YG557

Breccia as architecture.

Quarried in Tuscany — the Antolini Capraia Ultimate selection, the boldest register of the family of fragments.

Breccia Capraia is the Tuscan breccia used across European architecture for two centuries — a bold limestone conglomerate with ivory, rust, oxblood and green clasts bound into a dramatic composition of fragments. Antolini’s Ultimate cut pulls the field to the family’s most painterly end: the block selected for the widest range of clast colour and the strongest architectural gesture.

At 73″ × 130″, YG557 is a long landscape. The slab reads as a single composition — clasts running across the surface like a finished painting. Honed softens the surface and keeps the breccia at architectural weight — polished pushes it toward spectacle and loses the room-like register.

The right Breccia for the room where the slab is meant to be the statement. Pair with restrained architecture — clean millwork, commission plaster, a single dark moment of furniture. Runs beautifully as a feature wall, full-height bath composition, statement island, fireplace surround, or bar front.

One Finish · Honed

Honed,
to keep the breccia architectural.

Lot YG557 ships honed. The Ultimate cut is calibrated to a matte, monumental surface — polished pushes the clasts into spectacle and the slab reads as ornament rather than architecture. Honed forgives everyday etching and lets the breccia register as material under any lighting.

The right surface for feature walls, full-height baths, fireplace surrounds, statement islands, and any application where the breccia is meant to lead.

2cm · 73″ × 130″ · Honed

Painterly breccia, matte, monumental

Honing keeps the Ultimate cut at architectural weight. The clasts read as material rather than as ornament, the slab sits comfortably under any lighting, and the patina develops as colour rather than wear. The right register for a Breccia Capraia that is meant to live in a room.

Common Questions

Questions,answered.

What is Antolini Breccia Capraia Ultimate?
Breccia Capraia is a Tuscan limestone conglomerate in the family of fragments — ivory, rust, oxblood and green clasts bound into a dramatic composition. Antolini’s Ultimate cut pulls the field to the family’s most painterly end. Lot YG557 ships at 2cm honed, 73″ × 130″.
Is Lot YG557 available in polished?
By special order. Honed is what the Ultimate cut ships at, calibrated to keep the breccia architectural. Polished Breccia Capraia reads as spectacle rather than room — honed is the right call for most applications.
Where does Breccia Capraia Ultimate work best?
In the room where the slab is meant to be the statement — a feature wall, a primary bath composed entirely of breccia, an island where the stone anchors the kitchen, a fireplace surround, or a full-height entry hall composition. Pair with restrained architecture and let the slab lead.
How is Breccia Capraia Ultimate different from regular Breccia Capraia?
Both belong to the Tuscan breccia family. Regular Capraia is a quieter luxury conglomerate. Ultimate pushes the pattern to Antolini’s most painterly register — wider range of clast colour, the strongest architectural gesture. Pick Ultimate for the room where the slab is meant to be the focal point.
Can Lot YG557 be bookmatched?
Bookmatched Breccia Capraia is available on selected blocks. Lot YG557 ships as a single slab; matched pairs and full-wall compositions are quote-on-request depending on the layout.
How do I see Lot YG557 in person?
Royal Stone is at 2303 South Sepulveda Boulevard, West Los Angeles. Designers and private clients are welcome by appointment Monday through Friday. Call (310) 477-3223 and we will pull the slab for you.
