Antolini Black Label · Platinum

The classical register, contemporary disciplined.

Quarried in Tivoli, Italy, and selected through the Antolini Black Label · Platinum program.

Black Label Platinum is Antolini’s most respected cut of Tivoli vein-cut travertine — warm cream and silver vein lines drawn across a grounded, even field. The stone’s age told through contemporary discipline. The vein-cut lies the bedding lines parallel to the surface, presenting the travertine as the layered register of the quarry rather than as cloud.

At 66″ × 110″, the slab sizes for feature walls, fireplace surrounds, primary bath composition, and full-height cladding. Leather keeps the classical register matte and forgiving — polished would push the cream and silver toward reflective and lose the contemporary register. The slab behaves as material under any lighting.

The right travertine when the brief is classical and the room wants warmth with contemporary discipline. Pair with brushed brass, oak millwork, lime plaster, marble elsewhere, and a darker floor as the counterpoint.

Classical vein-cut travertine, matte, disciplined

Leather keeps the Platinum register quiet and the vein-cut lines legible. The slab sits calmly against plaster, oak, and brass — and the patina that develops with use reads as part of the vein rather than wear.

Common Questions

Questions,answered.

What is Antolini Black Label Platinum Travertine?
Antolini’s most respected cut of Tivoli vein-cut travertine — warm cream and silver vein lines drawn across a grounded, even field. The vein-cut presents the travertine as the layered register of the quarry rather than as cloud. Often simply called "Antolini Platinum" in the trade.
Where does Platinum Travertine work best?
In the room where the brief is classical with contemporary discipline. A full-height feature wall clad entirely in stone, a fireplace surround, a primary bath span, a dining table top, a working countertop in a kitchen. Pair with brushed brass, oak millwork, lime plaster, a quieter marble elsewhere as counterpoint.
Is Black Label Platinum available filled or unfilled?
Both. Stock is filled-and-leathered; unfilled is quote-on-request for designers who want to read the natural voids of the stone. Filled reads as classical cream Tivoli; unfilled reads as the natural vugged register.
Is Platinum Travertine available polished?
By special order. The slab ships at leathered, calibrated to keep the field matte and contemporary. Polishing brings the cream and silver vein lines to reflective and is the right call for formal entry halls and fireplace surrounds.
How is Platinum different from Travertino Classico Light?
Platinum is vein-cut — the bedding lines run parallel to the surface, drawing the stone as layered cream and silver lines. Classico Light is cross-cut — the bedding lines run perpendicular, drawing the stone as cloud. Two different registers of Tivoli; pick the cut that fits the brief.
